How to insert a gazing ball into a gazing ball wind spinner

How to insert a gazing ball into a gazing ball wind spinner...

There is a hole on the bottom of the gazing ball.  Place this hole on top of the peg in the center of the spinner.  there are two rings on each side of the ball that are thinner then the rest of the rings.  Take the 2nd rings (one of each side) that are further from the ball and spin them around (one left and one right) to enclose the ball on all four sides.

How to replace a solar light

How to replace a solar light....

1. Bend upward one of the rings surrounding the top of the solar light (there is one on each side of the spinner), need only bend one up.

2. To take out the solar light to turn on and charge battery - carefully remove bottom of light from raised peg in sits on, this will require some "wiggling" of light so as not to break the bottom of light.  When removed, twist off top of solar light and turn switch to "on" and reassemble top of light.

3. "Wiggle" it back onto the peg it sits on and bend ring from Step 1 downward over the solar light.

4. Secure the rings on both sides to ensure the solar light is placed on the spinner snugly and sit back and enjoy your beautiful solar light wind spinner!

Frequently Asked Question #7

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q:  What does the gauge of steel mean?
A:  The lower the gauge number the thicker the steel.  Our 18 gauge steel is extremely heavy duty.  They are shipped to you semi flat and all you will need to do is fan the spinner out.  Don't be afraid to bend it because it won't break.

Our wind spinners are laser cut from 400 series 18-gauge Stainless Steel to prevent rusting and painted with a special baked on powder-coated paint that gives them a high gloss finish.  There are so many designs to choose from...please check out our whole selection!  If you haven't seen one of our Wind Spinners before, then you haven't seen the brilliant display that they produce.  The angles of cut steel provide several different surfaces for light to reflect from.  As the Wind Spinner rotates, the reflections provide an illusion of the center image expanding to the outer ring of the Wind Spinner.  As the spinner continues to rotate, the reflections continue to pulse causing a 3D holographic-like effect.  Most people that view the Wind Spinners assume they are battery powered, because of the light that they emit, however, the light is actually a series of reflections coming in from different angles and reflected out in a sequence of sharp brilliant pulses.

About Us

We are a small town business with a big inventory.  After the Elementary School closed down in Mantador, ND, a town of about 60 people, Ray Zajac saw an opportunity to keep the town alive and purchased the building to house his growing company.  Ray opened Dakota Steel Art in 1998.  We moved into the building in April 2007 and after many renovations we now house over 300 designs of wind spinners, have our own custom framing department and employ 5 full time employees.

Jeanne is our office manager and has been with our company for 5 years.

Kim is our receptionist and order manager.  She has been with our company for 5 years.

Jo is our framing specialist and shipping department manager.  She has been with our company for 5 years.

Tami is our webmaster and has been with our company for 4 years.

Embert is our printing specialist and has been with our company for 2 years.
